How Do I Find the Government of Jamaica’s policy on generating electricity from renewable sources?

Question and Answer

The Government of Jamaica’s policy is that 30% of energy to the national grid will be renewable sources by the year 2030. The Office of Utilities Regulation issued a request for proposal for 115 MW of renewable energy of which 78 MW were awarded to three bidders. Two wind and one solar generating facility will come on stream in the future. The Government of Jamaica will continue to promote the further development of indigenous renewable energy sources for electricity generation.
